The suspect, Keefe D. Hunt, is a 60-year-old man who was a member of the Southside Crips gang at the time of the shooting.

Police say that Hunt was motivated to kill Shakur because he believed that Shakur was responsible for the death of Orlando Anderson, a Southside Crip who was killed six months earlier.
