Rosalind Brewer stepped down as CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance on Friday, September 1, 2023, less than three years after taking the helm.

The company said in a release that its board and Brewer mutually agreed for her to step down.

Brewer also immediately stepped down as a member of the company's board.

She will be replaced by Walgreens veteran Boots UK CEO Steve Pessina, who will become the company's executive chairman.
